ABOUT OUR MEDITATION
The aim of the meditation taught in our classes, in which we sit and focus on the breath or other meditation object, is to eliminate the omnipresent stress and anxiety of everyday life.
Our meditation teaches how to be strong and conduct ourselves with courage and confidence in the everyday world. It offers clear instructions on how to expand our human kindness and the precious qualities of morality, concentration, focus, wisdom, and an open heart. We learn to work through difficult experiences and learn to meet all our challenges, without a lot of hardship and struggle. Instead of collapsing and giving up, we can continue moving forward with good energy toward a bright future.
People are often surprised to find it is difficult to meditate and to understand and apply the insights that arise from meditation. But with the support of instruction and a fine-tuning of a regular practice, the calm and joy of your meditative mind appears and develops, not only on the cushion, but also off the cushion in your daily life.
Mindfulness Meditation is paying attention, in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, nonjudgmentally.
